Our Story

My mother grew up on Brantwood Road with her sister, brother, and parents. Nostalgia, heirlooms, tradition; these are all things that I have always been in love with. Growing up, my mother always set a table with linen napkins and real candles every night. We would often sit at the table together for hours, long after the meal was over, discussing whatever the topic of the day was. Oftentimes, it was stories of her life. Travelling the world, working with medicine men of Ecuador and learning their local pharmaecopia, setting up watch as a photographer working for a private investigator, catching a boat to Tunisia after buying a one way ticket to Paris. Her first time on her own visiting Ireland during the Troubles of the 80s; getting a call to rush home to America as her beloved mother was passing away. These stories always started at the dinner table, and my mother and I share that love of family history, story telling, and ambiance.

We also heard stories of growing up, family weddings, ski trips, her unending love for her siblings, parents, and their large tight-knit group of cousins. My mother taught me that we are the ones who can turn ordinary moments into stories that will last generations. And for someone like my mother, the ultimate story teller, the right stage must be set. Create an atmosphere that is inviting, comforting. Visually interesting. Something new while honoring our past and histories. A lifetime of sharing her home and her life with others started on Brantwood Road. This is the essence I wanted to share with my clients. Often, mothers are a large part of the wedding planning process whether they are physically present or not. This business is an attempt to share a long history of bringing people together in celebration and storytelling. Brantwood Events is a way for my clients to feel supported and celebrated as we create memories for their own families; writing stories to be told at the table like they were at Brantwood Road.
